Sheltie Rescue has been experiencing a slow intake period during this time
of the Covid pandemic. Presently we have no Shelties available for
adoption. If things change, we will always have our available
Shelties posted here on our website and also on our Facebook page.
WPASR was started in January, 2014 in
Western PA to fill a much needed void for Sheltie rescue in the area.
We are a
501(c) 3 Non-Profit ALL Volunteer organization, that helps homeless
or abandoned Shetland Sheepdogs.........also known as "Shelties".
We take in all Shelties that may need us,
provide extensive Veterinary care and
continue to work with each Sheltie, until they are ready to be placed
in their forever home.
We do not have a shelter.
All of our Shelties are housed in our network of Volunteer foster homes!
This ensures each dog gets plenty of individual attention and the best care
possible, both physically and mentally, in their journey to their "forever home".
All Shelties at WPASR are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, HW
tested, treated for any illness or injury, have a dental cleaning (if
needed), properly groomed and anything we deem necessary for the
well-being of the Sheltie. We also do extensive temperament
testing on each dog, so a good match is always made with each new adopter
to assure they will be placed in their "furever home".
